The Old Man and the Sea | Summary - El Mutaalim Academy _ اكاديمية المتعلم

"The Old Man and The Sea" by Ernest Hemingway.

An old and experienced Cuban angler has a run of horrendous misfortune, and can't get any fish for 84 days. His young and gifted student, Manolin, has been constrained by his folks to begin working with another angler. The elderly person takes steps to cruise out farther than the wide range of various anglers and endeavor to get the huge fish. On the eighty fifth day he prevails with regards to snaring a marlin with his lure however the marlin is excessively solid for him and starts pulling the boat. The elderly person and the ocean is the tale of the elderly person's battle with a marlin and his later fight against sharks. Hemingway consistently discusses the need to battle against annihilation or demise, and how assurance and perseverance can assist one with winning in the battle. The elderly person is toward the finish of the novel exceptionally close to death, however we realize that the account of his anguish and misfortune will live on in the recollections of the individuals of his town. At last his story gets one of win on the grounds that the stories of his everyday routine will be experienced even after his passing.

Hemingway generally rides in short and straight-forward sentences and practices an extraordinary economy in his utilization of words. This straightforwardness is beguiling and a reader can peruse his work over and over and find new layers of significance without fail.

I originally read this novel years back, when I didn't comprehend it by any stretch of the imagination, and it was left disinterested (implies having no regard). I read this book again and was incredibly moved. The imposing strength of the elderly person's character, the very commitment of the sympathetic Manolin and the connection between the two are endearing.

Hemingway's portrayals of the ocean and the animals of the water are delightful. the marlin battles for its life frantically and it's difficult to tell whether our feelings should lie with the elderly person or the marlin. However, as the novel advances the elderly person and the marlin are indivisibly connected in light of the fact that both represent the very beliefs, that is, a respectable battle against devastation.
